Luxor, the former capital of Ancient Egypt known as Thebes, was destroyed over 2500 years ago and now stands as a significant historical site, preserving a third of the world's ancient architectural treasures. During the Luxor from Marsa Alam excursion, you'll explore the Temple of Karnak, a vast complex covering 1.5 km by 700 m; Luxor Temple, linked to Karnak by a sphinx-lined alley; the massive Colossi of Memnon statues; the Valley of the Queens, housing the tombs of pharaohs' wives and children, including Nefertari's tomb; and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. This journey offers a unique glimpse into Egypt's rich history and architecture.

- Our tour guide will pick you up at the hotel gate by bus around 3:00 AM.
- First stop: Karnak Temple - a unique temple, the largest ancient religious building in the world. Unlike many Egyptian temples, the Temple of Karnak was built by more than one pharaoh and even more than one dynasty. Construction began in the 16th century BC and continued for over 1300 years. About 30 pharaohs contributed to the creation by adding temples, pylons, chapels, and obelisks dedicated to the gods of Thebes. The Karnak temple consists of three buildings, several smaller temples located in the main area, and several temples outside its walls. The Karnak Museum in the large courtyard has a sacred lake, on the shore of which a scarab beetle sits on a marble column, fulfilling wishes.
- Situated on the right bank of the Nile in the City of the Living, Luxor Temple is intricately connected to the Karnak temple complex. In ancient times, these two magnificent sites were linked by an alley of 365 sphinxes, an awe-inspiring sight that is gradually being restored today. Luxor Temple was a significant religious center, dedicated to the rejuvenation of kingship, and was the site of the annual Opet Festival.
- Delicious lunch at the restaurant (drinks not included).
- After lunch, you will have a Nile Cruise with a visit to Banana Island (optional for an extra charge).
- In the second part of your tour, you'll visit the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues depicting the seated Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Each statue stands 18 meters tall and weighs over 700 tons. These statues were mistakenly associated with the Greek hero Memnon by ancient travelers, but the name has remained unchanged. The Colossi of Memnon have stood as silent sentinels for millennia, witnessing the rise and fall of civilizations.
- Visit the Valley of the Queens, where magnificent tombs of the wives and children of the pharaohs were discovered. These tombs were carved deep into the desert, richly decorated, and filled with pharaoh's treasures. This necropolis houses up to 70 rock tombs, including the renowned tomb of Nefertari Merenmut, the wife of Ramses II, adorned with exquisite polychrome frescoes.
- Your final stop will be the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a luxurious architectural complex dedicated to one of the greatest women in world history. Queen Hatshepsut, the wife of Pharaoh Thutmose II, took the throne from the rightful successor, Thutmose III, after his death. The Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut is carved into the rock, featuring three terraces located one above the other, each containing open palaces, covered rooms with pilasters, and sanctuaries hidden in the depths of the mountain.
- The tour ends around 18:00. Way back to Marsa Alam. Return to the hotel around 23:00.
